About
It began with an obsession.
Leaving a life of dairy farming, co-owner and head chocolatier Erlé LaBounty has been crafting delicately balanced, old-world chocolate confections out of his home state of Vermont since the tender age of 16. Specializing in hand rolled truffles, LaBounty and co-owner Eliza La Rocca have since added chocolate covered, burnt butter salted caramels and six different varieties of chocolate bars to their carefully curated production lineup, all crafted with certified organic, fair trade, soy-free 70% and 85% chocolates.

Our company’s ethos centers on the meeting of responsibility and pleasure. Sourcing organic, fair trade, and local ingredients, we carefully craft dark chocolate confections that emphasize taste, texture, and aesthetics as much as they do sustainability and purity of ingredients; ethics reflected in our environmentally friendly packaging and small batch production. |
The majority of our ingredients (and 100% of any and all chocolates we use) are
certified organic. Those ingredients that are not are thoroughly vetted and certified
non-GMO, as well as being soy- and corn syrup-free; and they are as local as
possible. Moreover, while co-packing (production at another, larger facility not
owned or operated by the company) is something of a food industry standard, we
proudly produce everything ourselves in Bristol, VT, a tiny town nestled against the Green Mountains.
We give everything we’ve got to this business because we believe in it, we believe in each other, and because we really, really like making people smile through good
food.
What’s the takeaway? You can trust our methods and ingredients, and indulge
in deliciously balanced dark chocolates you and your customers can feel good
about!
Enjoy!
